Thank you very much for visiting the Tamron website.
On November 1, 2020, we celebrated the 70th anniversary of our founding. The lifespan of companies is often said to be 30 years. We have developed and grown by providing a range of optical products for 70 years. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to customers and other stakeholders who have supported our development.
The world economy is facing one of its greatest economic crises since WWII due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consumer spending and corporate activities have been seriously affected. The environment surrounding us is changing dramatically with accelerating technological innovation. We need to address challenges in the age of coexistence with the coronavirus and deal with global environmental issues. It is important for companies to respond to those changes and challenges.
As we celebrated our 70th anniversary, we reviewed our mission and vision and revised our corporate philosophy and corporate vision towards continued growth in the next 10 years and onwards to our 100th anniversary, while maintaining Tamron’s founding spirit. To achieve these goals, we have formulated a code of behavior and conduct and a new framework for our corporate philosophy. We have also created a unified international brand slogan focusing on optical technologies and the future to emphasize that we are a company that is looking ahead.
Tamron will continue to provide excitement and a feeling of security around the world through products using its strong optical technologies and will contribute to creating a fulfilling society by enriching people’s minds. We will work to help solve social issues through our business, aiming to become a company that contributes to achieving a sustainable society and that is respected and truly needed.
Tamron creates emotion and reassurance through its mastery of light, contributing to the realization of a fulfilling society.
“Carving out the future with light”We pursue optical technologies, aiming for a fulfilling society that offers joy, emotion and reassurance. We expand the possibilities of light by addressing many of society’s issues for the future providing value around the world.
Tamron Europe GmbH has had its company headquarters in the cathedral city of Cologne for many years. The hub of Tamron´s European business is performed just an eyeshot away from the Fühlinger lake in northern Cologne. The spheres of activity include sales, export, marketing, service and distribution performed by appx. 40 employees.
Cologne is ideal for an internationally operating enterprise such as Tamron. Apart from the close-by international airports of Cologne-Bonn and Düsseldorf and the Japanese community in nearby Dusseldorf, it is here where the leading photographic trade fair photokina takes place every two years.
Cologne is home and a favorite photo subject at the same time: the cathedral and the Hohenzollern Bridge are often used as a photographic subject for advertising.
